WeShort is a streaming platform dedicated to short films, connecting filmmakers and audiences worldwide. It offers a curated library across genres and languages, aiming to elevate the visibility of short films.

However, the platform faced challenges with a complex sign-up process and a brand identity that lacked distinction. With over 250,000 users globally, WeShort needed a streamlined onboarding experience that aligned with its brand values and encouraged user engagement.
Business Goals

• Simplify the user registration process to increase sign-ups.

Challenges

• Users were dropping off during the lengthy registration process.


• The app’s visual identity was not strong enough to differentiate the brand.

We conducted user research to identify pain points, revealing frustration with lengthy registration and limited content access before subscribing. Collaborating with a data analyst, we analyzed user behavior to refine the onboarding process and enhance content discovery through personalized recommendations.
I worked closely with the development team to refine Shortie’s algorithm and ensure seamless integration. Through iterative testing and user feedback, we fine-tuned its recommendations while maintaining a smooth user experience.
The redesigned WeShort app introduced a one-step registration process, removing unnecessary barriers and allowing users to explore content before subscribing. A refreshed interface reinforced the brand’s identity, improving usability and visual appeal.

To maintain consistency, I designed a UI Kit that streamlined the implementation of both the app’s interface and Shortie’s recommendation engine. This ensured a cohesive and efficient workflow for the development team.
Beyond the app, I contributed to WeShort’s growth by designing marketing materials, social media assets, and event visuals. My work helped drive a +2000% increase in followers, secure partnerships with Amazon Prime Video and Trenitalia, and establish WeShort’s presence at events like Sundance 2023.
